Catfish: A new type of cinema?

Recently, I saw the film strongly marketed by the internet as a paranormal film. EH well, maybe not the same marketing methods exactly, just similar, but this is irrelevant. Catfish was released on 19 September in select rooms. It does not appear to have as many hubbub as paranormal, but I liked it as much.

The difference between these two films? One was scripted and it was not (unless you're like the others who questioned the authenticity of the film). In these words, filmmakers, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, say they began registering Nev Schulman, when his life took an interesting turn. Spoilers ahead, but I'll try not to fall too much of:

He was contacted by someone unexpected and begins a relationship with this person. His brother filmmaker Ariel and friend, Henry, are interesting and unusual, so they began filming it and kept on password when things are more interesting.

Some people call a documentary, but it has been marketed as a "reality" thriller and Ariel he calls a "fake documentary." The thing is that nobody really knows what is in fact call, because it is a style of cinema that has never been published before. Documentaries tend to be there to make a point or to inform. And then there's Cloverfield and paranormal seem exactly like her, but they are entirely fictitious posing as something real. Catfish, however, is a piece of the non-fiction that happens to have an element of the real story to it. You're emotionally involved in the same way you would have then to watch a film narrative regular unlike you would with a documentary. This is something that has never really captured before, well, not for a movie which is distributed to theaters.

My question is therefore, is a new type of cinema? We know already the YouTube-style films are, but they are not true at all. This one is. Are filmmakers will begin their cameras 24/7 running with their friends and their families in the hope of capturing something interesting, like catfish? It has certainly inspired pas doing me something like it!
