Film review: the Social Network (2010)

BOTTOM LINE: Skillfully written with excellent performance combined with expert David Fincher film touch, "the Social Network" is a joy to watch, even though the Facebook origin story is given more drama and color version of real life it is based on.

Good:There is something quite satisfactory to go to a movie when you know Director is at the top of his game and the only question is how ride it will get. David Fincher is once again with a topic that might be an unlikely source for entertainment. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has graced the history of the creation of social networking web site Facebook, but in so doing, fashioned a tale humorous plot, drama, treason, and pleasure. So impresses is that between the Sorkin script and direction of the Fincher, they create not only a fairy tale character fascinating, but actually create the Harvard World lifestyles for students, and what was to be there. You can really feel and perceive the world created for this film, and although it was seven years ago, it is indeed as a film by period, largely because technology has changed much since then and really notice you.

Jessie Eisenberg is fettle as founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg. His speech rampant and fast-paced, combined with a glaze determined and targeted effectively deliver a performance of a character of engineering; It is not nice at all, but it is imminent watchable. Justin Timberlake is a revelation: Napster founder Sean Parker. It glides his way: Parker slick and cool with relative ease. Andrew Garfield is excellent as Eduardo Severin, financial director and partner of Zuckerberg. And Armie Hammer has the dual role of twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss allege that Zuckerberg stole their idea. The interaction of all these characters is almost Shakespeare in nature, except that anyone does kill one, and in this regard, it is great fun to watch. The Social network is another triumph by Director David Fincher and is worth the trip.

Bad:As any stories based on real life, the fiction is more interesting than the truth. Some aspects of the chronology is correct, but more colourful and dramatic interactions are probably not true. In many respects, the film is so well done that it does not matter, but it is sometimes difficult with movies based on real life events where freedoms are taken with the facts. Light apparently straightforward way of Zuckerberg's objectives to the detriment of any person which is on its way, even those who support this make him a character very unlikeable, and isn't the film gain any notion of the real man that this film is based, and how it has changed the world.

Revision catfish

I'd pinned catfish online trailers, and they have piqued my interest successfully. When the movie finally appears in my local independent theatre, I could not only withstands a perspective. Marketing of catfishes painted film as a thriller-themed Facebook and then some mystery is concerned, it does not much thrill to be had.

Catfish begins by introducing the viewer Yaniv Schulman, who goes under the nickname of Nevada Nev is a photographer, and he began to receive portraits painted of his work as an 8-year-old girl named Abby. He continues to talk with Abby by Facebook and form a relationship with her mother and the rest of the family. The family continues to send Nev supplementary tables and Nev feels like he should help them promote their work. Several telephone conversations took place between, Nev, Abby, Angela and her mother and there seems to be something strange going on here.

Nev is finally introduced to Abby Megan's older sister, and they quickly develop a long-distance relationship. This is where the catfish mystery starts to develop. Nev and film team are beginning to realize that certain elements of the history of families aren't adding, and they take it on themselves to take a look.

The most fascinating aspect of catfish is it absolutely authentic. This isn't a "documentary-style" movie such as paranormal or Cloverfield, but a real documentary. Unfortunately, this means any twists, turns and surprises will not be or so climate exciting than those found in a Hollywood production. Although knowing as little as possible on catfish can improve the experience for some, I felt a bit let down when everything is finally revealed.

The subject is quite interesting, but anything viewers have not heard speak or seen before. The central themes of catfishes are anonymous, deception and redemption. The first half of the film builds suspense successfully, but the second half loses momentum film of the. After major reveal catfish, became bored and honestly it was not left much to keep my interest.

Nev is a nice guy, and the film team does a good job of telling his story and get the viewer has invested in its results. It's a bit refreshing to see a documentary of this nature and it is fortunate that filmmaker ariel Schulman stumbled on the story when it did. Catfish just is not quite live up to the hype, but it is a genuine story deserves its turn on the film.

The proposal - film critic

"The proposal" was one of the best romantic comedies released in 2009. It is rated PG-13.

Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) works as an Executive Editor highly placed for a publisher of book highly respected in New York City. Margaret is his work, but people who work for it consider it is cold, pitiless and without regard for them or their feelings. It has a very effective assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) which manages somehow to follow with it without stop smoking or being fired.

Everything goes well for Margaret until she learns that she is to be deported to the Canada. It seems that it never took time to obtain appropriate documentation to remain in the u. s. She tells about her bosses that she was secretly dating her assistant and that they are engaged to marry. Of course, after marriage, she will become an American citizen and visa issues will disappear.

Once she convinces Andrew thereto is his best interests, they find that INS has posted an agent in their case, who believes that their upcoming marriage is a sham and determined to expose them. Andrew, with the threat of imprisonment suspended overhead, negotiates editor-in-Chief and the publication of his own book work if it goes through with the transaction.

In an effort to appear as a normal couple, engaged, they will visit Andrew in Alaska family. It turns out he grew into a well-to-do family in a small town where everyone knows everyone. She brings to her family and they announce their intention to marry. They remain in the House of his family, where she learns the tension between Andrew and his father, who wants him to resume the family business. Over a short period of time, it grows Andrew and his family who treat him as one of them.

Mother Andrew convince them he should marry at home and they reluctantly agree. Andrew starts to have doubts with respect to deceive his family. Andrew mother (Mary Steenburgen) and Grandma Annie (Betty White) take Margaret in town for a wedding dress fitting. While in the dress shop Grandma Annie Margaret collared family for 150 years.

Meanwhile, the NSI agent Mr Gilbertson has been in contact with father Andrew (Craig t. Nelson). He travels to Alaska to face Andrew and offer once deal to admit that marriage is a sham, and it will go free while Margaret gets deported to the Canada. Cross with her, and he will go to jail. In defiance of his father Andrew told them that the marriage is still.

At the altar Margaret changed its mind, everyone said the truth about their commercial agreement. She flees with Constable in the NSI return to New York and prepare to return to the Canada. Ex girlfriend Andrew spoke with him and he realizes that he is really love Margaret wants to marry. He is trying to catch him until she leaves Alaska, but arrive too late at the airport.

He rushes in New York and she finds office cleaning his things. In front of the entire desktop he said he loves it and it offers. Ultimately, we see them and family Andrew interviewed by Constable in the NSI in its attempt to thwart what he believes still is a false marriage.

My recommendation

Watch the film. I like much Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, so I knew that I film before I even saw it. And I've done. It's funny, with scenes of great nature and Betty White one native dance dance around a fire in the Woods. More could you want? The chemistry between the main characters was compelling as it was the manner in which they gradually their staff lives with each other.

I also like Craig t. Nelson and Mary Steenburgen and provided great entertainment as Andrew rich parents. Mary has played its role of warm, loving mother also convincing as it did in the past in other movies. Craig was big as a father gruff, no-nonsense who simply wants the best for her child.

Another character, that you'll love is Ramone. He is a man of many talents. See us scraping in him a little less than male hunky away. The only man scraping away the area, apparently. He worked in a store, a cater server and the local Minister.

Timeless Classics: World Cinema - the Message (1977)

The Message (1977)

Director: Moustapha Akkad

Cast: Anthony Quinn, Irene Papas and Michael Ansara

This film has raised much controversy while being made and after being released. Director Moustapha Akkad was to hire 4-5 members of the Islamic clergy to make it properly. Ultimately, film winners final. Personally, I do not follow a particular religion.Try to absorb the correctly intrepretted, things justified them. Which are more or less similar in all religions! The Message tells you how to correct and highest life as the ten commandments, Bible, Ramayan etc. The film depicts the birth of Islam and why the world need the guidance of the Qur'an. In a materialistic level, focuses on the circumstances that led to Islam original knowledge idolatry, pitiful state of women and poor in 600 A.D.

If you always ask why prophet Mohammad is never given a physical form, then watch this film carefully and interpret it correctly - you'll have the answer. My interpretation is as follows:

"Prophet Muhammad received God's Message, by Gabriel. He that wanted the world to know the message but was unwilling to his fitness to be adored directly." At the time of the Prophet idol worship was at its height, and was used by the wealthy in society in an inappropriate manner, as it was by the Roman empire before the arrival of Jesus. So if the Prophet was also idolatrous then its mission would have proved futile.Instead of this, he chose the message given in the form of the Qur'an, without any idolatry. »

Best part about the movie was direction. Director gave the exact message in a manner that is intact. For example, it has shown in a scene how a mother/wife starts to believe in Prophet. That was simply perfect and covered the need to show how and why others start to the Prophet. Engineering Director. This is a wonderful feeling to witness first Mecca-Medina Hujh to film. The origin of the appeal of Islamic prayer has beautifully explained in the movie. Some praying place use bell, some trumpet, but here it was decided that a human voice would be used for calling on followers to offer their prayers. This scene is awesome as well. You really feel like praying! There is also a battle scene, and the Prophet also took part in it was the need of the hour and therefore warranted. Lord Krishna, Guru Nanak and many others approved such a battle justified. Some used spiritual figures battle and some used miracles, like Jesus Christ and Buddha to make men to realize the extent of ultimate supreme power. (One of the reasons that I love Mahatma Gandhi, he used neither!) Choreography, depending on the time and the technology is good acting is nothing spectacular but precise. Although Anthony Quinn is a revelation as always! It is a Director movie. He managed to say what he wanted.

A must watch 8.2/10.

Catfish: A new type of cinema?

Recently, I saw the film strongly marketed by the internet as a paranormal film. EH well, maybe not the same marketing methods exactly, just similar, but this is irrelevant. Catfish was released on 19 September in select rooms. It does not appear to have as many hubbub as paranormal, but I liked it as much.

The difference between these two films? One was scripted and it was not (unless you're like the others who questioned the authenticity of the film). In these words, filmmakers, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, say they began registering Nev Schulman, when his life took an interesting turn. Spoilers ahead, but I'll try not to fall too much of:

He was contacted by someone unexpected and begins a relationship with this person. His brother filmmaker Ariel and friend, Henry, are interesting and unusual, so they began filming it and kept on password when things are more interesting.

Some people call a documentary, but it has been marketed as a "reality" thriller and Ariel he calls a "fake documentary." The thing is that nobody really knows what is in fact call, because it is a style of cinema that has never been published before. Documentaries tend to be there to make a point or to inform. And then there's Cloverfield and paranormal seem exactly like her, but they are entirely fictitious posing as something real. Catfish, however, is a piece of the non-fiction that happens to have an element of the real story to it. You're emotionally involved in the same way you would have then to watch a film narrative regular unlike you would with a documentary. This is something that has never really captured before, well, not for a movie which is distributed to theaters.

My question is therefore, is a new type of cinema? We know already the YouTube-style films are, but they are not true at all. This one is. Are filmmakers will begin their cameras 24/7 running with their friends and their families in the hope of capturing something interesting, like catfish? It has certainly inspired pas doing me something like it!

Let me review

Absolutely, I hate this new vampire craze. Twilight is obscene in the show cheesery, True Blood is rife with bad acting and attempts on trend with more mature offers are taken as a personal insult. Having recently seen two Swedish original film, Let The right One In, with the new version, Let Me In, I very seriously doubt that any other work in the vampire genre can be top.

Starring Chloe Moretz Hall of Famers Kick Ass Abby, the vampire aged 12 year and Kodi Smit-McPhee as victims of bullying at the edge of the precipice Owen, the film takes care to develop these characters and their situation in a way much more satisfactory than the original. Owen is presented as a darker than the usual brandishing a knife, mask 12 years, and peeping tom telescope in the first 5 minutes of the film. I felt sorry for him and fear of him at the same time. Of the film, Abby seems much more innocent that Owen and the two actors deliver performances that blow their Swedish counterparts completely out of the water.

Many positive changes have been implemented since the original film. Tensions are exacerbated by the inclusion of "La Policman", played by Elias Koteas, played by Richard Jenkins who is constantly on the trail of blood, and his father, Abby. Owen lives with his single mother and relationship with his father is much more distant and tense which is represented in the original, but it is for the better. Owen is the victim of several school bullies who take their torment to an appalling level, and it becomes clear why Owen seems so disturbed in the beginning of the film.

Owen and Abby first meeting in playgrounds in their apartment complex and immediately the bat Owen knows that there is something strange about. She is constantly going barefoot in the snow and strange comments about their relationship. It is an entry in the age of love is a horror movie, so don't go in with the wrong expectations.

The best scenes from the movie can be found with the father and his efforts nightly to provide ABBYY with the blood it requires, without the mess she would leave if left to its own devices. Fr. fails in his quest for blood more often and Abby is forced to hunt for itself several times. These attacks are absolutely brutal. I think that this kind of brutality adds significantly to print audience of Abby. The attacks of original films were much more docile and it is probably a product of technical limitation. Speaking of technical limitation, CGI used to execute these scenes beyond horrible. We are talking about I am Legend level, and they can sometimes get a little ridiculous. In all CGI scenes mutual concessions, providing an additional dimension to Abby priced photo realism.

Taken as a whole, Let Me In is more satisfactory in the plot and characters as the original film. Two movies have been written by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist, but to Let Me In just feels fully flesh out with a more structured narrative. If you are tired of all these companies cheap and cheesy vampire, do yourself a favor this week and go discover Let Me In

Seen 3D review

It is crazy to see how far this during top series of tobacco snuff films for Twisted Pictures came. Kevin Greutert has done a pretty good job over the years audiences around keeping the confusion regarding story/plot line series. Honestly, but who cares? I mean it's Saw, audiences only look to see some crazy ass crude gore.

3D 3D Saw was done fairly well. not on top, but still used effectively. View the 3D, like most of the series, picks up directly from the last tranche. In previous Saw, Detective Hoffman had inherited Jigsaw legacy and a damn good job of it. As with other payments, the introduction to the 3D saw is awesome. Each film opens on a macabre scene intensely unfolding before the eyes of the public and saw 3D continues the tradition.

View the 3D is reminiscent of 5 saw in that it focuses on only one to have to bear the pain, torment and the burden of saving others from their surroundings. For followers of the previous films, there are a few Director faces saws at 5 and 6 returning chiming total cacophony saw 3D scenario. The premise of the saw 3D involves a man named Bobby (Sean Patrick Flanery) transmit its history to the nation is a surviving puzzle traps. However, Bobby ment to be victim to gain fame and fortune. Bobby was later learns his lesson as he is confronted with a trap involving his wife and many other close to him.

The film is awesome to see in 3D. Personally, I think they could do much more, especially since the cost estimated on this film was more than 17 million. A series of films with this many suites will have certain which flop, seen as 3D included. View 3D could be much more, but alas, they are not that I am concerned and lost a few million to returning actors and actress certainly requesting a higher remuneration grade.

A redemptive scene involves Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, who died a death awesome thanks to a remarkable chain of events. Other than a few emerging scenes like that, Saw 3D is simply another episode tired in a series of snuff films. They maintain that this is the final saw but if viewers continue to go to these films, studios will continue to churn on every Halloween.

A look at the quiet supernatural curse, Ringu Japanese horror - movies

The year 1998 saw a Japanese film Ringu was appointed by the horror film reviews, it was the beginning of the presence of a mass audience to view these films in different countries. Japanese horror films of similar nature is come with subtitles and made the public demand for more information. Ringu is adapted from a novel by Koji Suzuki, and he was even once inspired Japanese storytelling - Banchou Sarayashiki. This film was released in United States as the ring (English although Remake) in 2002, which was again a success. The film speaks fucking video recording and when someone watches - is fated to die in a week.

Original novel was a great success at the Japan, as per the reviews and Kadokawa Shoten horror film began to think about a movie with the same story, and it took nine months and a few days to make the movie. Hiroshi Takahashi Hideo Nakata collaborated on the script and came up with a budget of 1. $2million US. Special effects and some other scenes were shot on 35 mm film and then rebuilt in a computer lab to highlight the actual effects that we saw in the film. Japanese horror movies has become very popular among people around the world after this was published worldwide.

The history of Ringu is very simple and spooky effects added received all his praise of critics of horror films. The story about a teenager - Tomoko, who considers a video that was cursed and then receives a phone call. Video shows a woman told him that she was going to die in less than a week and she died with her other friends. One of his friend will angry after seeing all these and the Tomoko aunt tries to find how it happened. She studied and finds a strange video and friends. Many Japanese horror movies came later had this idea of a fucking video and successfully.

Aunt Reiko watched the video to find what it is and ultimately cursed and attempted to find a way to break the curse. Critics of the horror movie reviews horse on the fact that many things were explained step correctly, but still he obtained a prequel and suites to form a unique atmosphere and can be felt by people who come with a strong heart. Music for this film helps improve the bizarre atmosphere. The soundtrack was conducted by Krzsztof Penderecki - Polish composer and Kenji Kawai. famous both with Japanese horror films.

Original film by Hideo Nakata received its English version as "Ring" and many other suites and single prequel film. The horror film examines the State film became popular because it is totally free of the shootings macabre usual supernatural films. The idea of the story is simple and it helps make more fantastic and scary and the effects of dark scenarios and the soundtrack of the film making more blood cuddling in places. Unlike other Japanese - horror movies that has a sense of calm and a few game pieces to make it more realistic and rampant, with a hypothesis of terror every second.

Film critic: RED

My wife and I decided to hear us today and go see red at our local theater. Apart from the staff which is mostly half asleep and as my mother always said "born without pressed", pas mentioned that we have better its image and at home (and not spitballs on our LED tv).

But none of this is due to lack of Bruce Willis. Or Morgan Freeman. Speaking of Mr. Freeman (who is rude in person according to someone I know who met), he must have done so acting together for the film in about 15 minutes. Because it is everything, it is here for.

Bruce Willis really stole the show has chops acting, especially if you go back and watch for stacking or Die hard 1 point of view. Willis is at the center of this story, playing the role of a former CIA Spook. All headings are in the same boat as character Willis, as R.E.D. considered (retired extremely dangerous for non-initiated).

History of Vice President centres defining a bouquet or R.E.D. for contract murder and of course the R.E.D. illustrating young hotshots "kick old school." The story is well done and not nearly as clich? as you would think.

The reason for this is that a legend of the Red originally written comic world some time it y a. Warren Ellis is the latest scribe comic having artworks cherished by Hollywood (although this worship is not universal – namely, Frank Miller, adaptation of the spirit).

It was Ernest Borgnine, who plays the keeper of Archives of the CIA, sequestered in a vault little known to the seat to make a surprise appearance.

Another surprise appearance was made by Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss, who plays the real big bad in this story of intrigue and espionage.

Our heroes (including now John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) allows a well orchestrated sequence of shots to emerge victorious. Mary-Louise Parker is a forgettable appearance as our protagonist's love interest. If you've seen his character in the weeds, you've seen his apparent range acting.

Despite disparate talents, the film never print is too long or cast Award winner is in no way touch.

Is he going to win any prizes? Perhaps for special effects or value of production. But it is an engaging story and a heck of a ride fun. He gets enough stars to win my personal future Blu Ray purchase banner itself.

Recent movie review Spotlight: Jackass 3D

Jackass 3D movie review:

Jackass 3D is a 3D film and the third film in the series Jackass. It follows the premise as well as films past and the TV series. Even though it received mixed to positive reviews, it certainly is a very funny film. Jackass 3D is of course, 3D is a phase that has come and gone from recent history. Jackass 3D is the most successful and miss that the last two films. little Cascades really fall flat, but some make your sides hurt from laughing so hard (or sick) Jackass 3D promises you a dirty, painful time, and it offers across the Board.

Johnny Knoxville assembles alienated once crew. With. Bam Margera, Steve-O, Wee Man, and the rest of their brave and funny friends that they create another round of outrageous pranks and cascades. Johnny Knoxville, leads once more the group as they perform silly tasks which include animals, feces, dildos, flight, and thus most from feces.

Although it is difficult to justify the cost of a ticket 3D, returning a third time, you won't feel snatching off. It is difficult to say when some Jackass is funny or simply make you feel sick.If you've never seen before Jackass movie, it's really just a bunch of guys doing crazy and disturbing hinders any for reasons to laugh. It is useful to see, and if you are in the series of Jackass, you'll absolutely love this film. And for all the world, it is often difficult do not laugh at some of their stupid inventions Cascades.

It is one of the funniest regular payments in the series, reflecting universal humor lies men knock each other the groin, face, and the butt. Therefore, if sound "poo Cocktail" Supreme and "sweatsuit Cocktail" as they could be funny, then you would be better at the theatre soon, because this film is for you.

Review: Expelled no intelligence not allowed

You know the difference between "intelligent design" [ID] and "creationism." What about changing verses intelligent design: why is there so much controversy on education both in the public schools? Is the "theory of evolution," so sound to be absolutely indisputable? What happens to those who support rigorously ID should also be taught along side developments in public and private schools: the people are part of the club "the world is flat"?

I decided to examine more closely. The returned DVD hosted by Ben Stein, recommended us scientific friends who prefer to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals professional. This reason alone was enough incentive to view the film.

Returned evokes a sense of deep concern, not because IDs is a threat to the scientific credulity, but that the lack of really rigorous hardened evolutionary argument is therefore very - well, embarrassing. Indeed, scientists have shown are significantly less open-minded and price to challenge the status quo has cost a certain number of their jobs and professional credibility.

Outlook mediated by proponents of intelligent design is actually quite simple and logical: recent suggest that the permanent theory of evolution and Darwinism [combined with the accidental emergence of natural selection] can no longer support as the sole explanation for the origins of life. They argue that, in light of recent discoveries scientists in the last half of the century (for example the exquisite nano-technology with and a numeric code stored within the cells of living), demonstrate the intelligent cause, not natural processes non-directed, random.

Darwinists who fiercely oppose the theory of the State of evolution, "" Intelligent Design is pure political dogma and not worth our time to address. "" There is no rational logic presented, only opinions intimidation by some of the most esteemed academic minds. For example, Richard Dawkins, high - profile Darwinist, insists that complex biological systems "give the appearance of being smart." But this statement begs the question, "would not be the possibility for complex micro systems appears to be"smart"suggest real intelligence?"

On the one hand, it would be easy to dismiss a DVD presentation covers these controversial and contentious when arguments presented by a sardonic comedian that is recent claim to fame is infomercials and ignoring signs of financial crisis as a commentator on Fox News. Credibility of Ben Stein certainly took some successes in recent years. However, the arguments presented by intelligent designers themselves are sufficiently trustworthy for a few hours of edutainment.

If you are interested in understanding more emotional debates behind evolution intelligent design verses expelled no Intelligence is pleasant, but also instructive.

Recommended.

Here is my top 15 list of favorite boxing movies from #15 to #1:

15.) Raging Bull (1980)- This biographical film was directed by Martin Scorsese and tells the story of ex-middleweight champion Jake LaMotta. It stars Robert De Niro as LaMotta and was nominated for eight Academy Awards (including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Cinematography, Sound, and Editing). It also stars Joe Pesci and Cathy Moriarty in supporting roles.

14.) Annapolis (2006)- James Franco plays Jake Huard, a young man who dreams of one day attending the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland (hence the name). Huard enters into a boxing tournament in hopes of meeting the company's commanding officer in the final's, which he eventually does. Although he loses the fight by the judge's decision, he earns the respect of the entire academy for going the distance. Tyrese Gibson co-stars as the commanding officer, Midshipman Lieutenant (1st Class) Cole.

13.) Rocky V (1990)- This is the fifth installment in the Rocky series and centers own Rocky's retirement and financial troubles that have taken him back to his roots where it all began. He starts to make his comeback when he meets an ambitious and up and coming boxer named Tommy Gunn and takes him under his wing and trains him to be a pro. Real-life boxer, Tommy Morrison plays Tommy Gunn and of course you know who plays Rocky.

12.) Snake Eyes (1998)- O.K. I'll admit that this movie is'nt actually about boxing but rather an assassination that takes place during a crowded championship boxing match. But it is still a good watch. This movie was directed by Brian De Palma and stars Nicolas Cage as a corrupt detective who stumbles onto the plot with the help of a woman named Julia Costello played by, Carla Gugina. This movie co-stars Gary Sinise as the leader of the plot.

11.) The Great White Hype (1996)- This movie is a satire of racism in boxing. It centers on the match-up between the current undefeated heavyweight champion who is black and the only man who has beaten him since his days as an amateur, who happens to be white. The match-up was put together by Rev. Fred Sultan, who thought the black vs. white scenario would bring a lot of money since he is the promoter of the fight. Damon Wayons stars as heavyweight champion James "The Grim Reaper" Roper and Peter Berg plays the white fighter, "Irish" Terry Conklin while Samuel L. Jackson plays the Rev. Fred Sultan. Cheech Marin and Jamie Foxx add to the hilarious cast.

10.) Undisputed (2002)- This movie revolves around the prison boxing matches of a Nevada State Prison. When undisputed heavyweight champion George "Iceman" Chambers is convicted of rape, he is sent to the prison to serve his time. While there, he is given a chance at an early release if he agrees to fight the "prison champion" in a match to see who is the undisputed heavyweight champion. Peter Falk plays Mendie Ripstein, an old gangster who makes the fight happen and has enough pull to give "Iceman" Chambers an early release. Ving Rhames is "Iceman" Chambers and Wesley Snipes stars as Monroe Hutchins, the undefeated prison champ.

9.) Diggstown (1992)- This movie is about a con man named Gabriel Caine who bets the owner of a small town called Diggstown that he knows of someone who can beat any ten fighters in a 24 hour period. The bet starts out small at first but by the time the competition is over Gabriel Caine ends up owning nearly everything in the town. James Woods plays Caine and Bruce Dern is John Gillon, the mean-spirited owner of Diggstown. Louis Gossett, Jr. is the fighter who takes on the ten fighters and wins it all.

8.) Rocky III (1982)- Third installment in the Rocky series has Rocky Balboa getting ready to retire but is harassed by an up-and-coming contender named "Clubber" Lang into giving him a shot at the title, which ultimately causes Rocky to lose his title. In the rematch, Rocky is now being trained by Apollo Creed since Mickey died shortly after the first fight. Rocky soon regains his old form again and is able to knockout "Clubber" Lang in their second meeting. Mr. T plays "Clubber" Lang and once again, you know who plays Rocky.

7.) Rocky II (1979)- Second Installment in the Rocky series has Rocky Balboa in a rematch with heavyweight champion Apollo Creed to prove that the first fight was just some kind of fluke because Balboa lasted the whole fight. Rocky and Apollo duke it out the whole fight and in the last round they are both on the canvas being counted out when Rocky is able to get up before the ten count and he becomes the champion. Sylvester Stallone, Carl Weathers, and Talia Shire star.

6.) Rocky IV (1985)- Fourth installment in the Rocky series has Rocky taking on Ivan Drago, a Russian fighter who ends up killing Apollo Creed during a boxing match. This time Rocky must fight in Russia because Drago will not fight in the U.S. because he fears for his safety due to Creed's death. Rocky then travels to Russia to train in the isolated countryside and eventually knocks the Russian out and avenges his friend's death. Dolph Lundgren plays Drago while Sylvester Stallone and Carl Weathers reprise their roles once again.

5.) Million Dollar Baby (2004)- This is the story about a thirty-two year old waitress named Margaret Fitzgerald, who aspires to be a boxer. Maggie, as she is referred to, is able to convince a down-and-out boxing trainer named Frankie Dunn to help train her so she can turn pro. She starts her career out good at first but suffers a debilitating injury in the ring when she is sucker-punched and breaks her neck when she lands on a stool, leaving her a quadriplegic. Hillary Swank stars as Maggie and Clint Eastwood directed and stars as Frankie Dunn. This movie won Best Picture and earned Hillary Swank a Best Actress Award and Morgan Freeman a Best Supporting Actor Award.

3.) Although times are rough, Braddock's long time manager, Joe Gould, is able to get him back in the ring. After some successful wins, Braddock is able to contend for the title against Max Baer, which he wins by unanimous decision. Russell Crowe plays James J. Braddock and Renee Zellweger plays his wife Mae.

1.) Rocky (1976)- This is my all-time favorite boxing movie. It is about a 4th-rate boxer, named Rocky Balboa, who is given a shot against the heavyweight champ, Apollo Creed. Rocky loses the fight by split- decision but is just grateful that he went the distance with the champion. This movie also centers around the relationship between Rocky and his girlfriend Adrian. Rocky was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won for Best Picture and Best Director.

So this concludes my personal choice as the best boxing movies ever made. I really hope that you agree with my selection because it was not easy trying to rank them in this order because they are all so good, but I feel confident that you will appreciate my ranking and agree that these movies are the best choice to build you collection.
